Who we are

Our Story

Established on 26th October 1994, Ocean Seafood Pvt Ltd has steadily grown into a trusted name in the Maldivian tuna industry. From the beginning, the company has focused on building a reliable and professional operation that consistently delivers quality seafood to its customers. Over the decades, we have gained valuable expertise in every stage of the supply chain , from handling raw catch to processing and exporting finished products.

Today, Ocean Seafood is fully dedicated to the processing and export of fresh-chilled and frozen Yellowfin tuna. Operating from our Ocean Glory Fish Processing Facility, we supply carefully prepared tuna products including H&G, Loins, Steaks, Saku Blocks, Poke Cubes, and Chunks to major international markets such as Europe, the USA, Canada, the Middle East, and Sri Lanka. Each shipment reflects our commitment to freshness, quality, and responsible fishing practices.

While Yellowfin tuna remains our core business, the facility also has the capacity to process reef fish and billfish, providing flexibility to meet diverse market demands.

With more than three decades of industry experience, Ocean Seafood continues to represent the Maldives’ proud fishing tradition while ensuring that our customers receive seafood products that meet the highest international standards.

Quality Policy

To operate a successful fish processing facility that supplies quality fish to the export market, it is imperative that the processing facility is located in close proximity to the international transportation hub. Therefore, to maintain the freshness of the products processed, fish handling and transportation times have to be minimized.

Benefits

  • Ocean Seafood has already established understanding with buyers , giving the company the potential to positively contribute to the industry, helping to increase demand for the local catch and minimizing dependence on limited markets.
  • The promotion of the fish processing facility to European-grade standards will lead to more competition among regional fish processors. This, in effect, will fetch a better purchase price for fishermen and improve their income.
  • The facility will provide easy access to essential services such as ice, fuel, and water for fishing vessels. This will allow fishermen to spend more time fishing instead of waiting in queues for supplies like ice and oil.

Grading Tuna is an Art

At Ocean Seafood, our team has graded tens of thousands of tuna caught in Maldivian waters. With years of hands-on experience, we are confident in our ability to accurately determine the value of each fish. We specialize in matching the right fish to the right market, whether it is bound for Europe, the USA, the Middle East, or Asia. From the moment the fish is landed, we take note of its shape, check for any marks on the skin, inspect it again after icing, and carefully examine the body inside and out. Our methodology is focused and precise; every step of the process contributes to ensuring that each tuna meets the highest standards before it reaches our customers.
